Release Day: White Hot Kiss - Jennifer L. Armentrout
We are beyond excited to participate in the Release Day Launch for Jennifer L. Armentrout's WHITE HOT KISS! WHITE HOT KISS is a young adult paranormal romance being published by Harlequin Teen TODAY! This is the first full-length novel in The Dark Elements Series and one you'll want to grab as soon as you finish reading this post. ABOUT WHITE HOT KISS: One kiss could be the last. Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses. Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever. Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul. But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world. EXCERPT: “I don’t think of Zayne that way!” She laughed. “What man-parts-loving female in this world doesn’t think of Zayne that way? I can barely keep myself breathing when I see him. All the guys in school have squishy waists. I can tell Zayne doesn’t. He’s the awesome sauce with extra sauce.” That he was and he so didn’t have a squishy waist, but I tuned Stacey out at that point. I really did need to cram for this test and I also didn’t want my fantasies involving Zayne to occupy my mind right now. Especially after I’d woken up this morning, carefully tucked under the covers. The bed had smelled like him: sandalwood and crisp linen. “Oh, sweet baby Jesus in a manger,” Stacey murmured. I clenched my jaw, cupping my hands over my ears. She jabbed me in the side with her elbow. At this rate I’d be covered in bruises before lunchtime. “Our bio class just got a billion times more interesting. And hotter, lots and lots hotter. Holy mother, I want to have his babies. Not now of course, but definitely later. But I’d like to start practicing soon.” The cell wall is a thick and rigid layer covering the plasma something, something plant cells… Stacey stiffened all of a sudden. “Oh my God, he’s coming—” Composed of fat and sugar— Something slender and shiny fell from who knew where, landing in the middle of Sam’s notes. Blinking tightly, it took me a couple of seconds to recognize the faded and half peeled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sticker covering the back of the silver cell phone. My heart slammed against my ribs. Gripping the edges of the notebook, I slowly lifted my gaze. Unnaturally beautiful golden eyes met mine. “You forgot this last night.” AmazonBarnes and NobleKoboiTunes Now that you have a taste for this fabulous new series, here are the details for the AMAZING international giveaway!!! Landon Brinkley is making her dreams come true. After years of poring over glossy photos of celebrity parties in People and US Weekly, she’s landed her Holy Grail: an internship with the fabulous Selah Smith, event planner to the Hollywood elite.
Moving from small town Texas to Los Angeles, Landon finds herself in a world in which spending a million dollars on an event – even for kids’ birthdays – is de rigueur. The thrill of working on A-list parties and celeb weddings is enough to get her through the 75-hour workweeks, the nightmare of a multi-day film festival, and abuse at the hands of a mercurial boss. LA is full of opportunity for fame, fortune and even love. But confronted with the seamy realities of the business, she is forced to make a choice: do whatever it takes to get ahead, or stay true to herself.
A roman a clef in the vein of The Devil Wears Prada, PARTY GIRL draws on the author’s real life experience for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the celebrity-obsessed world of event planning. From the party habits of America’s favorite underage singer to the worst Bridezilla of all (the kind that graces the cover of your favorite magazine), PARTY GIRL reveals the ugly side of Hollywood’s prettiest parties.
If you're like me and really obsessed with celebrity magazines and looking over their weddings and parties, then you'll like this book. It's about this young woman trying to make her career into event planning and is interning for the biggest event planner in Hollywood.
I really liked Landon and I felt sorry for her throughout the book. Her boss is a freaking bitch. But Landon was so determined and never once gave up. She had all these dreams and even though everything wasn't what she expected, she stood up again and tried. There were some stupid decisions that she did but nothing that really annoyed me. All in all, she was a very relatable heroine.
The romance was where I wasn't impressed with. At first, I thought there would be this love triangle, but then there wasn't. And the guy that she ended up with kinda was a bit two dimensional. I would have liked to have more scenes with him, to further develop his character and so we can get a better feel of him. He was a bit of a cliche to be honest.
I really found the whole party event behind the scenes look very interesting. It turns out there's a lot that I didn't know and there were a lot of times where I was very surprised and shocked. I did like the fact that this book was different to others were it focuses on events planning instead of the usual fashion firms. Anyone who's very interested in Hollywood or the media will pretty much enjoy this book and for people who also loved The Devil Wears Prada.

FOUR YEARS LATER Synopsis: New Adult bestselling author Monica Murphy winds up her sensational series with this sexy story of two college kids with nothing in common but a bunch of baggage and a burning attraction. Over. That about sums up everything in my life. Suspended from my college football team and forced to cut back my hours at The District bar because of my crappy grades, I can’t keep turning to my sister, Fable, and her pro-football playing husband, Drew, to bail me out. I just can’t seem to find my own way. Weed and sex are irresistible temptations—and it’s messed up that I secretly hand over money to our junkie mom. A tutor is the last thing I want right now—until I get a look at her. Chelsea is not my type at all. She’s smart and totally shy. I’m pretty sure she’s even a virgin. But when she gives me the once over with those piercing blue eyes, I’m really over. But in a different way. I won’t deny her ass is killer, but it’s her brain and the way she seems to crave love—like no one’s ever given her any—that make me want her more than any girl I’ve ever met. But what would someone as seemingly together as her ever see in a screwed up guy like me? EXCERPT: Four Years Later by Monica

Will contain spoilers!
In Shatter Me, I was Team Adam. In Unravel Me, I was still Team Adam. But after reading Destroy Me and Fracture Me, I began to like Warner. I know, I'm confused too! Tahereh Mafi has a way of surprising me. Honestly I was convinced that I would hate this book. I really didn't know how everyone would get the ending they deserve. Silly me for all that worrying. I completely loved this book. Everything. The characters. The love triangle. The ending.
Tahereh's writing was one aspect that make this series different. Her writing is just so magnificent and I could pretty much quote this entire book. There's about a gazillion quotes that are so memorable and true.
“Words, I think, are such unpredictable creatures."
The love triangle was handled brilliantly. It was fairly easy to figure out who she's gonna end up with earlier on and I totally switched teams. This series is probably the first YA that I read which the girl doesn't end up with the 'first' guy that she loved. If you think about it, no one ends up with their first love anyway and the relationship here was portrayed very realistically. When people grow and change, their feelings towards certain people also changed. I love this quote, said by Juliette about her and Adam's love:
“Water that never moves." I say to him. "Its fine for a little while. You can drink from it and it'll sustain you. But if it sits too long it goes bad. It grows stale. It becomes toxic." I shake my head. "I need waves. I need waterfalls. I want rushing currents.”
I hope both Warner and Adam fans will be happy regardless who she ends up with. I was scared shitless Mafi was going to take the easy way out and kill one of them or have the choice made for Juliette *coughNightshadecough*. But what I loved about this book, among other things, was that Juliette made HER choice. This book is arguably HER book. Her story. Her growth to love herself and acceptance. She's one of my favourite protagonists. She kicks some ass now. Before she was so weak and stupid, now she's not afraid anymore. She believes in herself. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
“I can do anything I want.
Be with anyone I want.
And it'll be my choice.”
Turns out we didn't know everything and guess what? I'm now in love with Warner. You read that right. What I thought was impossible really wasn't at all. He surprised me a lot, that Warner. This sums up perfectly why Warner was the right choice in the end.
“I like the way I feel about myself when I'm with him." I say quietly. "Warner thinks I'm strong and smart and capable and he actually values my opinion. He makes me feel like his equal--like I can accomplish just as much as he can, and more. And if I do something incredible, he's not even surprised. He expects it. He doesn't treat me like I'm some fragile little girl who needs to be protected all the time.”
He knows and accepts and loves Juliette.
“You deserve so much more than charity," he said, his chest heaving. "You deserve to live, You deserve to be alive.”
And he can be pretty funny, too. I love this bit:
“It's not charity," I snap. "He cares about me--and I care about him!"
Warner nods, unimpressed. "You should get a dog, love. I hear they share much the same qualities.”
There was a lot more sexy times than I thought it would have (so not complaining) but what I loved about it was that it was very sensual and tasteful. It was done and written in such a beautiful and romantic way while still having me fan myself. I demand a NA written by Tahereh! I would buy it immediately. If you think Chaoter 62 was fucking hot, wait until you read Ignite Me's Chapter 55. Ovaries go boom. And that's not the only chapter. ;)
Honestly I didn't want this book to end because I hated to say goodbye to the characters! Especially Kenji. OMG I LOVE HIM. He was just hilarious and I really like the fact that Juliette's bestfriends with him. Love their friendship. Also, James! He's so cute. I know Adam pretty much annoyed most readers in this book, I just felt sorry for him! What he's gone through and all. But Juliette's made the right choice. And what can I say about the ending? While I honestly thought it ended a little abruptly, and that I would have preferred a mini epilogue, I'm still very satisfied with it.
I'm slowly staring to have faith in series endings. After the disastrous Bloodrose, Allegiant and a few others I won't mention, Tahereh Mafi, Jennifer L. Armentrout and Veronica Rossi proved that you can end a series the way it deserves.

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, called "a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love"
Juliette now knows she may be the only one who can stop the Reestablishment. But to take them down, she'll need the help of the one person she never thought she could trust: Warner. And as they work together, Juliette will discover that everything she thought she knew-about Warner, her abilities, and even Adam-was wrong.
In Shatter Me, Tahereh Mafi created a captivating and original story that combined the best of dystopian and paranormal and was praised by Publishers Weekly as "a gripping read from an author who's not afraid to take risks." The sequel, Unravel Me, blew readers away with heart-racing twists and turns, and New York Times bestselling author Kami Garcia said it was "dangerous, sexy, romantic, and intense." Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and climactic end.

Blog Tour: Take Two by Laurelin Paige (Excerpt and Giveaway)
TAKE TWO
Laurelin Paige
ABOUT THE BOOK
He’s ready for his close up, but she’s the one calling the shots.
On the night of her graduation from film school, straight-laced Maddie Bauers fell completely out of character for an oh-my-god make-out session with a perfect stranger. Complete with the big O.
Seven years later, that romantic interlude is still fresh in her mind. That stranger is now a rich and famous actor. And she’s one very distracted camera assistant working on his latest production. She might consider another tryst…if he even remembers her.
Micah Preston does indeed remember Maddie. Too bad he’s sworn off Hollywood relationships. He allows himself as much sex as he likes—and oh, he does like—but anything more is asking for trouble. For the woman, not for him. Yet knowing Maddie could want more than a movie-set fling doesn’t stop him from pursuing her like a moth drawn to hot stage lights.
But as the shoot nears its end, it’s decision time. Is it time to call, “Cut!” on their affair, or is there enough material for a sequel?
Warning: Contains a dreamy movie star hero, a focus-pulling heroine, off-the-charts instant chemistry, steamy sex in near-public locations, and a new use for lip gloss.

EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT
In
one swift move, he had her pressed against the wall, his mouth hovering above
her own. The rough stone behind her barely registered as she licked her lips in
anticipation of the kiss she knew was coming. But he didn’t lean in. Instead,
he brought his finger to her cheek and caressed it softly. She shuddered at the
electric pulses that followed his light touch as he traced her jawline. When he
reached her chin, he lifted her face up to within an inch of his mouth. She
felt his breath, hot and sweet, on her skin. And then his mouth was on hers,
tugging at her bottom lip, teasing her until she eagerly drew him in, wrapping
her arms around his neck.
The
kiss built, each stroke varying in pressure and intensity. Soft nips evolved
into frenzied exploration, their tongues dancing, plunging deeply and hungrily.
She savored his taste. A rush of pleasure rippled through her and she trembled
under his attentive suckling.
His
mouth released hers, traveled along her jaw and down her throat, his trail of
kisses searing into her skin. She clung to a fistful of his thick hair while he
alternately nibbled and nuzzled her neck, stoking the fire in her core. When he
raised his head to reclaim her lips, she glimpsed a greedy longing in his eyes.
About Laurelin: Laurelin
Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed
Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime
there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her
husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or
writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the
Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
