AUTHOR INTERVIEW AND REVIEW

ABOUT THE BOOK!
Second Chance Boyfriend (Drew + Fable, #2)

Lost. That one single word best describes my life at this very moment. I lost the last games of the season and both my team and my coach blame me. I lost the last two months because I drowned in my own despair like a complete loser. And I lost the only girl who ever mattered because I was afraid being with me would destroy her.

But now I realize how truly lost I am without her. She has become my story…and even though she acts like she’s moved on, I know she still thinks about me just as much as I think about her. She’s beautiful, sweet—and so damn vulnerable, all I want to do is help her. Be there for her.

Love her…

If only I could convince Fable to give me a second chance. Then I wouldn’t feel so lost anymore, and neither would she. We could be found together.

Forever.

:- AUTHOR INTERVIEW -:

1. Which book of yours One Week Girlfriend or Second Chance Boyfriend did you find writing the most fun? And why?

This is a tough question because I loved writing both books! I’m going to say I enjoyed writing Second Chance Boyfriend more. I was already familiar with the characters and I liked being able to go back to them and continue their story. It’s like visiting with old friends. Plus in SCB they’re able to be more free with their feelings and explore a true relationship versus hiding secrets and figuring out what’s real and what’s not.

2. How would Drew describe Fable in five words?

Beautiful. Strong. Loyal. Fierce. Amazing. Sexy. He’s sorta in love with her. In a big way. J

3. How did you come up with Drew and Fable's characters? By the way, I love them both so much!

Fable’s been hanging out in my brain for a while (I explain more in question #6). Drew…he came to me after seeing a report on the news about a seventeen year old who had a sexual relationship with his teacher and she got busted for molestation charges. Teenage boys are rarely portrayed as victims in the media. More like they scored with the teacher or whatever. It’s awful.

I wanted to write a sensitive, screwed up guy and I was scared to death I wouldn’t have the right balance. That Drew might come across as a wimp. Thankfully, readers have responded to him well and that makes me happy.

4. Did you always know the ending of SCB while you're still writing OWG?

No, I didn’t. I mean, I had an idea but I wasn’t exactly sure how it would all play out. When I write a book, I like to have a general outline to guide me where to go next but I don’t like plotting out every single detail. Takes the fun out of it for me. So as I’m writing, sometimes I’m as surprised as the reader is with the outcome.

5. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started writing? Did you always wanted to write?

Well, I’m a mother and a wife and a native Californian. And I always wanted to write. Ever since I was little, I loved to read. And when I first discovered romance books (both YAs and later adult romances), I really knew I wanted to be a writer. Just took me a while to finally start doing it.

6. What made you decide to write an NA? I love NA books!

I love NA books too! I’ve been told in the past I can have a younger sounding voice—and then been rejected for it. I’ve played around with YAs in the past but always did a terrible job. I even started a book back in 2009 for a certain character named…Fable Maguire. Yes, Fable’s been hanging out in my head for years.

I like writing new adult books because they are about a time in our lives that we can all relate to. When you’re young, just starting out and the world is wide open. There’s usually a lot of drama during those years (there was for me) and as a writer that offers a lot to play with plot-wise.

7. After this series, what else can we expect from you?

I’m currently working on my new series for Avon Impulse. Three billionaire best friends who make a bet that they won’t fall in love and of course…they fall in love. More details are coming soon but I can say the first book will be out in August.

This series isn’t necessarily new adult but it’s close. The heroine is younger (24) and the hero is twenty-eight. The books will be told in first person, alternating POVs. A little more romance-y and sexier.

8. And finally, can you give us a little hint of what's going to happen in Second Chance Boyfriend?

I don’t want to give away too much, but I can promise that Drew + Fable will find their happily ever after together. After all, they totally deserve it, right?

:- MY REVIEW OF SECOND CHANCE BOYFRIEND -:

Second Chance Boyfriend (Drew + Fable, #2)Title: Second Chance Boyfriend (Drew + Fable #2)
Author: Monica Murphy
Release Date: April 6th 2013
Genres: NA, Contemp, Romance

---------------------------------------------------------------
Ah guys! I have no words to describe just how MUCH I loved loved loved SECOND CHANCE BOYFRIEND. You know, I never expected to enjoy ONE WEEK GIRLFRIEND as much as I did, but this sequel is just..WOW. It blew all of my expectations!

What I loved about this DREW + FABLE series is the characters. Really the characters make the story and they're the ones that make the story unforgettable. Here we have Drew and Fable.I cannot tell you how excited I was when I received this book, I just dived into it and read it in one sitting. I MISSED Drew and Fable so much so you can't blame me. :P

After the really heartbreaking end of ONE WEEK GIRLFRIEND, I needed to find out how everything between our couple would turn out in the end. I've always rooted for them from the very beginning and just can't stop this stupid grin forming on my face whenever I read about them. Drew is just as swoon-worthy as ever, perhaps more so now than OWG because here, he had a lot of making up to do and that was awesome to read. Drew is such a fascinating (not to mention, HOT!) character and he has soooo much depth and vulnerability that I just want to hug him all the time. Fable, I really liked her too, whereas I wasn't too fond of her in the first book, I really began to adore her and I don't find her annoying now.

There's so many aspects of the story that really drew me in this. I loved the plot! The writing was fabulous, the pacing was great and obviously the sexy scenes *fans self* was just perfect. Lol. I loved the sexy, hot scenes especially! That's what you call chemistry, people!!

I really can't find any faults in this story. Really, none. I'm really, really satisfied with the ending and how it all came to be. I think the only bad thing is that I read it way too fast and I was sad when I didn't have any more Drew and Fable to read about. :( But anyway, SECOND CHANCE BOYFRIEND was an awesome sequel that lives up to the first book! If like me, you love NA, read this series. It's one of the best. :)
