Happy New Year and Wrap Up Post!

Hi guys! Only hours before 2014..I just can't believe it. This year has been the fastest one (and the most stressful!) for me ever. But of course there were a lot of awesome stuff that happened too. :) I really can't wait for 2014. It'll be a year of so many exciting stuff for me. I'll be turning 18 (yay!) in April, going to uni and learning to be all independent and all that. Should be fun!

I've already done the December wrap up post yesterday so all I want to mention are my year challenges and goals.

I've read 179 books this year.
YAY!

2011 Reads: 88 books
2012 Reads: 168 books
2013: 179 books

Not bad, right?

Out of 179 books,
68 out them are New Adult
42 of them are Adult
and you can guess the rest are Young Adult.

I also participated in two challenges,

the YA Contemporary Reading Challenge (hosted by Katie's Book Blog)
and unforetunately I didn't meet my goal of 20 books. I only read 13 YA Contemporary.

and the YA Debut Author Challenge (hosted by Hobbitsies)
and I also didn't meet my goal of 30 books. I only read 20 Debut Author books.

You can read my Top 10 of 2013 here:

My favourite authors: I didn't make any favourite authors list and I just want to give a few mentions - Jennifer L. Armentrout (of course, she's still the queen of books for me!), Sawyer Bennett, Jen McLaughlin/Diane Alberts, Sarah J. Maas (who shares my love for fairytales) and Beth Ehemann (who made me love hockey). There's so much more and you can find them in my FAVES page.

If you want to find out the whole list of the books I've read, please go here.

Before I go, I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to all my followers and all my friends on twitter. You know who you are. <3 font="">

I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting to include something, but oh well. I have to get back to my revision. (And all I want to do is read read and read. Oh and watch Enchanted again. But. :( )

Anyway, I hope you guys have a HAPPY NEW YEAR and I'll see you soon!

Mini Review: Fracture Me - Tahereh Mafi

Fracture Me (Shatter Me, #2.5)Title: Fracture Me (Shatter Me #2.5)
Author: Tahereh Mafi
Release Date: December 17th, 2013

Publisher: HarperCollins
Age and Genre: YA, Dystopian, Romance
Pages: 68
Source: bought

In this electrifying sixty-page companion novella to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, discover the fate of the Omega Point rebels as they go up against The Reestablishment. Set during and soon after the final moments of Unravel Me, Fracture Me is told from Adam's perspective.

As Omega Point prepares to launch an all-out assault on The Reestablishment soldiers stationed in Sector 45, Adam's focus couldn't be further from the upcoming battle. He's reeling from his breakup with Juliette, scared for his best friend's life, and as concerned as ever for his brother James's safety. And just as Adam begins to wonder if this life is really for him, the alarms sound. It's time for war.

On the battlefield, it seems like the odds are in their favor—but taking down Warner, Adam's newly discovered half brother, won't be that easy. The Reestablishment can't tolerate a rebellion, and they'll do anything to crush the resistance . . . including killing everyone Adam has ever cared about.

Fracture Me sets the stage for Ignite Me, the explosive finale in Tahereh Mafi's epic dystopian series. It's a novella not to be missed by fans who crave action-packed stories with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu.

I'm such a big Adam fan that I was so ecstatic when I found out he was going to have his own novella! I had such big high hopes for this but unforetunately, it fell short of my expectations and I just basically hated it.

I don't know what happened but that was not the Adam I feel in love with. I know some fans said that Juliette is not a reliable narrator (which I like) and that sometimes she only tells us what she wants us to see. And I think this is what happened here. We finally get to know what Adam is like from his own eyes. And I didn't really like it one bit. His personality was almost non-existent and I'm sorry to say but Warner's novella was miles better.

On a positive light, I do admire Adam's love for his little brother. If there's one person he loves more than Juliette, it's James. Which is super sweet and I of all people would get that as I have two younger brothers. BUT. That still doesn't excuse what he did and thought in this novella. I didn't like how he thought of Juliette. Like she's this weak and stupid thing that can't do anything. Ugh...

The more I think about it and the whole symbolism of the covers/titles/everything else, the more I'm convinced she's actually going to end up with Warner. There I said it. At this point, I really just want to know which guy she's actually going to choose. While this novella really annoyed me, it didn't take my excitement away for IGNITE ME. Which I really fucking hope is amazing.

BEST BOOK BOYFRIENDS OF 2013

I can't believe this is the last day of the Top 10 of 2013! I had so much fun doing this every year and I can't wait to do it again next year. Now, here's the top ten books I'm most looking forward to reading next year.

Here are some of mentions that either don't have a title or cover yet:
Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout
On The Rocks by Sawyer Bennett
Throne of Glass #3 by Sarah J. Maas

 1. WHITE HOT KISS
Jennifer L. Armentrout
YA
Yeah this is by far my most anticipated book of 2014. I'm so jealous of those who've read it already.  I just want Roth so badly lol.

White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements, #1)

 ROOM FOR MORE
Beth Ehemann
Adult
After that cliffhanger, I really need to know what happens next! And of course, I need more Brody.

Room For More (Cranberry Inn, #2)

 FIRE & FLOOD
Victoria Scott
YA
I've been looking forward to this book for ages! I really love the whole concept of it and I just want to meet the Pandoras!

Fire & Flood (Fire & Flood, #1)

IGNITE ME
Tahereh Mafi
YA
I freaking hope this ending is a really satisfying conclusion to one of my favourite series. But most of all, I'm dying to find out who she's going to end up with.

Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3)

INTO THE STILL BLUE
Veronica Rossi
YA
Again, another series ending. I'll be so sad to see this ends as I love the world Veronica created and wish I could live there forever. Also, ROAR.

Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky, #3)

SUMMER ON THE SHORT BUS
Bethany Crandwell
YA
Ever since I read the blurb, I'm waiting impatiently for this. It's about this spoiled rich girl who gets sent to a summer camp for disabled teens!

Summer on the Short Bus

BE WITH ME
J. Lynn
NA
Another book by JLA on this list. But how could it not? I'm so excited for Jase and Tess' story!

Be with Me (Wait for You, #2)

SWEET RECKONING
Wendy Higgins
YA
With each book, this series gets even better and I've no doubt this'll be the same!

Sweet Reckoning (The Sweet Trilogy, #3)

 OUT OF THE SHALLOWS
 Samantha Young
NA
This series stands out from the NA genre and I really wish Charley and Jake would find their happily ever after in this sequel.

Out of the Shallows (Into the Deep, #2)

DON'T LOOK BACK
Jennifer L. Armentrout
YA
Don't the cover looks beautiful and creepy? And the story is about a girl who wakes up with no recollection as to what happened and lost all her memories.

Don't Look Back

Aw. Now I'm sad there won't be any lists (for now) to do, and I just want to thank the bloggers who created and hosted this fab event! :)

Have a Happy New Year, guys! :D

Top 10 of 2013: Best Book Boyfriends

Top 10 of 2013 Banner

It's that time of the year again! I had such a blast last year making these lists and while it's so hard to pick favourites, it's also the most fun.

Today, I'm going to post: my TOP 10 OF 2013: BEST BOOK BOYFRIENDS OF 2013

This week:
Monday: Best Books I've Read in 2013 (just Young Adult books)
Tuesday: Best Book Covers of 2013
Wednesday: Blogger choice and I'm going to pick Best New Adult/Adult books of 2013
Thursday: Best Book Boyfriends of 2013 (the one I'm most looking forward to)
Friday: Top 10 Books I'm Looking Forward To In 2014

BEST BOOK BOYFRIENDS OF 2013

Wow. This was like the hardest one to do!! Have you seen my Faves page and how many names are under my book boyfriends?? Yeah. I actually spent way too much time choosing my top ten but these guys are the ones that made me melt.

Not in any particular order! And this list is a mixture of YA/NA and Adult books :)

DAEMON BLACK
from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I'm pretty sure Daemon would be in every blogger's book boyfriends list. I loved him ever since he insulted Kat in Obsidian.

Origin (Lux, #4)

 CHAOL WESTFALL
from Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
Ahh. The gorgeous Captain of the Guard. I've been in his team ever since day 1 (sorry, Dorian) and let's just say, Crown of Midnight made me fall in love with him even more.

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)

KELLAN KYLE
from Thoughtless series by S.C Stephens
Kellan really grew on me in the second and third book. That's not to say I didn't like him in Thoughtless, but he grew up and would you believe it, turned even more sexier in the following books. He's the bad boy singer but really sweet in the inside.

 Reckless (Thoughtless, #3)

AIDEN ST. DELPHI
from the Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I really want to marry Aiden. Yeah, I said it. (Seriously, he's one of the few good guys who aren't boring!)

 Sentinel (Covenant, #5)

BRODY MURPHY
from the Cranberry series by Beth Ehemann
I just love Brody, he's soooooo realistic and seriously one of the best book boyfriends. I want him to be real. Plus, he plays hockey and that makes him ten times hotter in my opinion.

Room For You (Cranberry Inn, #1)

ISAIAH WALKER
from the Pushing The Limits series by Katie McGarry
Isaiah is the hottest guy in the PTL series for me. He's exactly my type - the whole bad boy thing going on with tattoos, piercings and love of cars.

Crash into You (Pushing the Limits, #3)

ROAR
from the Under The Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi
Roar's not even the main character but he's such a really smoking side character that you just can't ignore him. I want his own series!!

Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2)

 FINN CORAM
from the Out of Line series by Jen McLaughlin
Finn is a sexy surfer and a Marine. And he's so crazy in love with Carrie that I can't help but feel a little bit jealous! I want my own Finn!

Out of Line (Out Of Line, #1)

LINC CALDWELL
from the Off series by Sawyer Bennett
If you've read my post yesterday, you'd know that I'm obsessed with the Off series right now. And by far Linc is my favourite guy! I really can't even begin to describe his character and I'm not even going to bother to try. But I'll say this: he's my number one book boyfriend right now.

Off the Record (Off, #3)

FLYNN CALDWELL
from the Off series by Sawyer Bennett
Of course, I have to have another guy written by Sawyer Bennett here on this list! If you don't know, she writes the best guys. Flynn is a cousin of Linc and he's a really HOT fireman.

Off Chance (Off, #5)

Hmmm. I'm probably forgetting someone and I don't even know it. Sigh. That's the problem with too many book boyfriends! ;)

Review: Bitter Sweet Love - Jennifer L. Armentrout

Bitter Sweet Love (The Dark Elements, #0.5)Title: Bitter Sweet Love (Dark Elements #0.5)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: December 1st, 2013

Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Age and Genre: YA, Paranormal, Romance
Pages: 105
Source: for review

In a sizzling prequel novella to her new series THE DARK ELEMENTS, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout draws readers into the extraordinary, irresistible world of Wardens and demons.Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining balance between good and evil. He was her everything...right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally.
And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again...

Jennifer blew my mind again! Well..she always does with each and every one of her books. But this one is so special because I've been wanting to read about this series ever since she said she's writing a demon/gargoyle story. I love gargoyles! Anyway, Bitter Sweet Love is an explosive start to what I'm pretty sure would be an amazing series.

As this is a prequel novella, it's about Jasmine (who I'm guessing will be a side character in the first book White Hot Kiss) and Dez. I loved Jasmine! As with every JLA heroine, she's snarky, strong and really just so relatable. Well..except for the gargoyle bit of course! Dez is now another addition to my Book Boyfriends list! He's hot, a little bit mysterious and sweet. I was a bit annoyed with him and want to know exactly why he left Jasmine all those years ago..but I get why he did it in the end.

The storyline and the world building is by far the best thing about this. I applaud Jennifer for creating such a unique world and writing about a paranormal creature that we haven't really seen enough about. I love gargoyles and demons so of course I was all over that. The whole mating thing was explained and I love how they all live in colonies. Also, the humans know about them! Which I found was so cool and interesting.

Aside from that, we also get to meet the main characters from the White Hot Kiss. Layla, Zayne and Roth appeared and I admit I was grinning so big when Roth made his. We also get to see a little more about Layla and Zayne's 'relationship' which was so sweet. But I'm so Team Roth. ROTH ALL THE WAY. He's a badass demon with tatoos and piercings in hot places and he's got a super cool but scary snake tattoo. Yeah. I'm in love with Roth already and I haven't even read WHK yet.

Bitter Sweet Love is everything that you would want in a prequel YA paranormal novella. The only bad thing is that after finishing this book, I want to cry as I don't have WHK yet! I'm soooooo excited for that book and all my blogger friends said it's epic. So yeah. This is such an amazing start to the Dark Elements series!

It's that time of the year again! I had such a blast last year making these lists and while it's so hard to pick favourites, it's also the most fun.

Today, I'm going to post: my TOP 10 OF 2013: BEST NEW ADULT/ADULT BOOKS OF 2013

This week:
Monday: Best Books I've Read in 2013 (just Young Adult books)
Tuesday: Best Book Covers of 2013
Wednesday: Blogger choice and I'm going to pick Best New Adult/Adult books of 2013

Friday: Top 10 Books I'm Looking Forward To In 2014

BEST NEW ADULT/ADULT BOOKS OF 2013

I promised that I'll do this feature since I didn't include NA/A books on Monday's post so here it is!

I also cheated on this, instead of a 'book', I'm going to do 'series' (for some only) as I want to include more as possible. :P

As usual, it's not in any particular order until you get to the top three at the bottom. :)

 Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1)Effortless (Thoughtless, #2)Reckless (Thoughtless, #3)

THOUGHTLESS series by S.C Stephens
New Adult
I must say that I hated the first book, but the following sequels really made up for it. I LOVE KELLAN!

Wait for You (Wait for You, #1)

Wait For You by J. Lynn
New Adult
Another reason why I love JLA so much. She can pretty much write about anything and it'll still be amazing. Cam and his cookies! Yum.

My Unexpected Forever (The Beaumont Series, #2)

My Unexpected Forever by Heidi McLaughlin
Adult
This is the second book in the Beaumont series and it broke my heart and made me feel so much more. I haven't read anything like it before.

Choosing You (Jade, #1)Knowing You (Jade, #2)Loving You (Jade, #3)

 JADE series by Allie Everhart
New Adult
I stumbled through these books by accident and am so glad I did. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much and the heroine doesn't annoy me. Which is pretty rare.

 Foreplay (The Ivy Chronicles, #1)

Foreplay by Sophie Jordan
New Adult
I love Sophie Jordan's YA series and this NA doesn't disappoint.

Breakaway (Heller Brothers, #1)Faceoff (Heller Brothers, #2)Hat Trick (Heller Brothers, #4)
One Man Advantage (Heller Brothers, #3)Offside (Heller Brothers, #5)

HELLER BROTHERS series by Kelly Jamieson
Adult
I have a thing for hockey players, ok? But seriously, anyone who likes hockey players and steamy romance don't want to miss this.

Wicked Thing

Wicked Thing by Angeline Kace
New Adult
I've read this multiple times already. I don't know what makes me love it exactly, but I just couldn't stop reading and I'm looking forward to her future books.

Out of Line (Out Of Line, #1)

3.  Out of Line by Jen McLaughlin
New Adult
OMG. This is seriously one of my all time favourite books ever. I love Finn and Carrie and just about everything in this book!

Room For You (Cranberry Inn, #1)

2. Room For You by Beth Ehemann
Adult
Yeah this also has a very hot hockey player in it but most importantly, the guy is not a douchebag. I want to marry Brody and be Kacie and have little Brodys around the house. Yeah. Read this book and you'll know what I mean.

Off Sides (Off, #1)Off Limits (Off, #2)Off the Record (Off, #3)
Off Course (Off, #4)Off Chance (Off, #5)

MY NUMBER 1
OFF series by Sawyer Bennett
This is one series you really do not want to miss. If you follow me on twitter, you know I'm kicking myself for not reading it sooner. Seriously, I devoured this series within like three days. I think my favourite book is (3) Off The Record closely followed by (5) Off Chance. Linc and Flynn are my two favourite guys and Ever and Renner my two favourite heroines.
Why wouldn't you want to read this? Each book focuses on a hockey player, a former Marine, another hockey player, a hot Irish singer and an irresistible fireman. You can't get anything better than that. ;)

So that's my top series/books for New Adult/Adult. There are so many more I want to include but I can't. Anyway guys, have a

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
