Top 10 of 2014 - Day 2 - Best Book Covers of 2014

Hey guys!

So it's that time of year again, when we post our Top 10 of 2014, so fun! I loved doing this every year since i started blogging and hopefully will never stop!

I love doing best covers! Why? Because I'm a sucker for beautiful covers and gotta admit they are pretty important when it comes to choosing which book to read/buy. But then again, I've read some amazing books where the cover really isn't that pretty and vice versa. So my top ten list here will consist of books i loved/disliked. Who knows? ;)

Also I'm a visual person (hence I'll be doing fashion communication at uni) and one of my dreams are to be a book designer someday too!

I'll be back tomorrow and the rest of this week -
Monday - Best YA Books I've Read in 2014
Tuesday - Best Book Covers of 2014
Wednesday - Best New Adult/Adult Books
Thursday - Best Book Boyfriends of 2014
Friday - Top 10 Books I'm Looking Forward In 2015

As of now I've read 112 books, so yes I completed my Goodreads challenge (100). It does look pretty bad compared to the last two years but this year has been pretty stressful what with my A2 Exams and starting university (and left due to hating course, but I reapplied again and got my 5 offers and starting a new course/uni next Sept!)

MY BEST BOOK COVERS OF 2014

Not necessarily in order

WINTERSPELL by Claire Legrand
OMG. This cover. I love everything about this cover. You can probably guess that my favourite colour is purple right? So that, plus the background, what she's wearing and her gorgeous hair (serious hair envy going over here!) just makes it one of my best.
I haven't read the book but I've heard some mixed reviews about this. Regardless, I just want to pet this cover.

The Jewel by Amy Ewing
Are we seeing a pattern here? Pretty girl in a pretty dress? I promise the rest won't be like this but I just can't help myself but feel drawn. As someone who loves fashion I like it when they combine my two biggest passions in one cover. Anyway, this book also appeared in my Top 10 YA books yesterday!

Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout
There's just something about this cover that's so creepy. I like the use of the mirror and the colour treatment and this cover will really attract my attention in a bookshelf. I've read the book and it was alright though.

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge
This cover is the perfect one for this book. I love the rose and stairs and it really gives the reader an idea what it's about and very significant to the story. I loved this book too (and it was nearly on my top 10 books)

The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Yeah, I know. But I'm just so in love with her dress and I love the placement of the title and author's name. Ah, can I have her dress please??

Infinite by Jodi Meadows
I've only actually read the first book of the series but I'm always so fond of its covers. This one is no different but it really does stand out in my opinion and as someone who's obsessed with masks and whatnot, I adore this.

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
How can anyone not like this cover? I think everything about it is just perfect. I haven't read the book yet, must get on that.

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
This series has got to have one of the most beautiful covers ever. Bold and eye-catching, the covers really are what drew me to read the first book (unfortunately I didn't like it and never read the sequels) but I love the illustration and the pretty font.

Tease by Amanda Maciel
This cover is just perfect for the story inside.

Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor
The combination of black and yellow/golds is just magnificent. And I've always had a font crush on this series. I've only rated it 2 stars and the book itself was a disappointment but the cover is not. :)

So that's it. Hope you guys liked my choices and please come back here tomorrow to see my top 10 list of NA/adult books!

I think if I have to choose, personally my top three would be: WINTERSPELL, THE WINNER'S CURSE and THE JEWEL.

  7. I'm so mad! I meant to add the Dreams of Gods and Monsters to mine last minute and forgot. You've got really good taste in covers. I've Pieces and Ruins on mine. Several of the others were close to being on mine as well.
