Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he’s heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma’s gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Told from both Emma and Galen’s points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.
This was actually my first mermaid (*ahem* Syrena) book back when I read it in early March. Which makes me wonder why I didn't pick and read some before,  because I love mermaids and I'm so glad their popularity in the YA world is gradually growing!

The mythology and the world-building was actually my favourite part. I love the Triton and Poseidon kingdoms, and how the author kept it really traditional, yet it's something that we haven't seen before. It was also fast-paced, and the action starts literally from the very beginning of the book.

I love Galen. He's so brave, gorgeous, smart, caring and so sweet! He's definitely up there with the others! The secondary characters were also pretty great, and I found myself smiling every time his twin sister Rayna and her mate Toraf was in the scene (I love both, and I wish that we'd get to see more of them in the sequel)! There were some multiply hilarious moments! Now, I don't mind Emma, but I thought since she's the main character, I would have liked more development from her. That's solely the reason why this book didn't get 5 butterflies from me.

That bloody cliffhanger. Oh. No. My mouth was literally hanging open and I couldn't believe Anna Banks would just leave it like that! In a good way. I didn't guess THAT and now I really can't wait to get my greedy little hands on the sequel! Bear in mind, I've read this in early March, and the book doesn't actually comes out until May, so I've got a longer wait than others!

To sum this whole thing up, OF POSEIDON is an original, fast paced, with full engaging  characters, and a HOT romance that you seriously can't miss when it surfaces in bookstores in May 22nd.
