Waiting On Wednesday (16)

February 26th 2013
My Thoughts: THIS. I would kill to have my hands on this book. This sounds like my perfect book. The killer summary, that bad-ass cover and omg I've been hearing lots of very sweet things about the romance :) I want to beg everyone to get me an ARC of this *hint hint* ;)!
Cover thoughts: BAD-ASS. I love how West's ALT is the shadow below, and can you see it's not really her shadow? Creepy! I just love everything about this cover! And that tagline = *dies from excitement*

You or your Alt? Only one will survive.
"Dualed" is a thrilling high-concept YA where citizens must prove their worth by killing their Alts--twins raised by other families.
The city of Kersh is a safe haven, but the price of safety is high. West Grayer has trained as a fighter, preparing for the day when her assignment arrives and she will have one month to hunt down and kill her Alt. Survival means advanced schooling, a good job, marriage--life. But then a tragic misstep shakes West's confidence. Stricken with grief and guilt, she's no longer certain that she's the best version of herself, the version worthy of a future. If she is to have any chance of winning, she must stop running not only from her Alt, but also from love . . . though both have the power to destroy her.
Elsie Chapman's suspenseful debut weaves unexpected romance into a novel full of fast-paced action and thought-provoking philosophy. When the story ends, discussions will begin about this future society where every adult is a murderer and every child knows there is another out there who just might be better.

My thoughts:  Girl warriors? Yes please! Though I'm quite picky about my fantasy, from this summary this looks like a fantasy that I would very much enjoy!
Cover thoughts: Very eye catching! And I'm so glad they went with a symbolic cover. That shade of blue also rocks.

The greatest warrior in all of the Seven Kingdoms... is a girl with yellow eyes.

Kira’s the only female in the king’s army, and the prince’s bodyguard. She’s a demon slayer and an outcast, hated by nearly everyone in her home city of Hansong. And, she’s their only hope...

Murdered kings and discovered traitors point to a demon invasion, sending Kira on the run with the young prince. He may be the savior predicted in the Dragon King Prophecy, but the missing treasure of myth may be the true key. With only the guidance of the cryptic prophecy, Kira must battle demon soldiers, evil shaman, and the Demon Lord himself to find what was once lost and raise a prince into a king.

Intrigue and mystery, ancient lore and action-packed fantasy come together in this heart-stopping first book in a trilogy.

My Thoughts: This series has got one of the best world-buildings EVER so obviously I can't wait for this sequel to Incarnate!
Cover Thoughts: *Squeals* I just want to give the designer a BIG hug for this! Seriously! I thought the Incarnate cover was beautiful, but this is just stunningly breath-taking! <33333

DARKSOULS
Ana has always been the only one. Asunder. Apart. But after Templedark, when many residents of Heart were lost forever, some hold Ana responsible for the darksouls–and the newsouls who may be born in their place.

SHADOWS
Many are afraid of Ana’s presence, a constant reminder of unstoppable changes and the unknown. When sylph begin behaving differently toward her and people turn violent, Ana must learn to stand up not only for herself but for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

LOVE
Ana was told that nosouls can’t love. But newsouls? More than anything, she wants to live and love as an equal among the citizens of Heart, but even when Sam professes his deepest feelings, it seems impossible to overcome a lifetime of rejection.

In this second book in the Incarnate trilogy, Ana discovers the truth about reincarnation and will have to find a way to embrace love and make her young life meaningful. Once again, Jodi Meadows explores the extraordinary beauty and shadowed depths of the soul in a story equal parts epic romance and captivating fantasy.

My thoughts: Only heard about this a few days ago, but GUYS. Read the summary. *Faints* Doesn't it sounds awesome??!? I'm really digging sci-fi right now!
Cover Thoughts: It's another one of those girl faces again, but I do like it. I like the boldness and how clean the cover is. The title certainly stands out and I like the added itsy bitsy details.
Pitched as a "Bourne Identity"-type sci-fi thriller about a teenage girl who discovers that she is a Mobile Intel Life-like Android, an experiment in artificial intelligence created by the U.S. government, and her scientist mother, who kidnapped her when she was found to have human emotions.

The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3)The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines #3) by Richelle Mead

My thoughts: Need this one now! Umm most of you who have read The Golden Lily will know what I'm talking about. My heart is still breaking from the last chapter.
Cover Thoughts: I surprisingly like this one since I hate all VA/Bloodlines covers. There's just something about the colours, the font title, the freaking title itself, the flowers that makes it stand out from the rest of the series covers. Though I'm a little worried about the three faces = it screams love triangle. Let's hope it's not. On Twitter there was this massive debate about who the the other guy is (on far left). I think it's whathisname Marcus Flinch.
NO SUMMARY YET. So I'll make up my own one. Sydney finally comes to her senses and decides to kiss Adrian. Sydney and Adrian kiss and live happily ever after. Pfft. I wish.
So there we go! Next Wednesday I'll have another five upcoming books to show you here! So what are YOU waiting for this week? I'd love to hear it below, and which of these five books are you mostly excited for? :)
